This chart is a guide for verifying your ChromaChecker configuration after the initial setup.

Print Inspector |
Goal: Ensure the physical printer is correctly defined and linked to the correct measurement instrument. 1. Navigate to Print Inspector > Devices. 2. Check Device Details: • Find your printer in the list and click the info ("i") icon. • Verify the Serial Number and other identifying information (Name, Location). 3. Check Instrument Assignment: • On the main Devices page, look at the "Instrument" column for your device. • Confirm that the correct spectrophotometer (e.g., X-Rite i1Pro, Barbieri Spectro LFP, etc.) is assigned. |
Issue: The printer is missing or has incorrect details. Depending on the actiity, ChromaChecker using the Device details for instruction and also to customize the user interface. If this is incorrectly defined or missing, errors can occur. "Instrument" dropdown to select the correct measurement instrument that will be used with this printer. Save changes. |

Accountability Inspector |
Goal: Confirm that the operator (Staff) exists and has permission to upload measurements for the specific device. 1. Navigate to Accountability Inspector/Staff and /Overiew. 2. Check Staff Definition: • Go to the "Staff" tab. • Verify that the operator who will be performing the measurements is listed and their account is active. 3. Check Device Access: • Go to the "Overview" tab. • Find the operator's name in the rows and the printer's name (from Step 1) in the columns. • Ensure the checkbox is ticked where the staff member's row and the device's column intersect. |
Issue: The Printer, Project or Tracks are missing. Fix: Go to the "Staff" tab and click "Add Staff" to create a new user account for the operator. Issue: The operator cannot upload to a specific printer. Fix: On the "Overview" tab, click the empty box at the intersection of the staff member's name and the device's name. A checkmark will appear, granting them access. Save changes if prompted. |

Capture Inspector |
Goal: Ensure a valid Scanning Template is defined for the instrument, telling the software what target to measure and how to measure it. 1. Navigate to Capture Inspector > Scanning Templates. 2. Check Template Assignment: • Find the measurement Instrument (verified in Step 1) in the list. • Ensure there is at least one active Scanning Template assigned to it. 3. Check Template Configuration: • Click on the template name to open it. • |
Issue: No Scanning Template is showing in Capture Software for an operator. Fix: Click "Add Scanning Template". Give it a descriptive name, assign it to the correct Instrument, and select the correct Control Strip from the library. Issue: Scans are failing with a "cannot find target" or similar error. Fix: Edit the existing template. Double-check that the "Control Strip" selected in the template settings is an exact match for the physical chart being printed and measured. Adjust the setting and save. |
